Poland is one of the countries in Central Europe, which has a very attractive geographical situation. The Baltic Sea, Odra, Nysa and Bug rivers, also beautiful mountain ranges of Sudety and Carpathians create natural borders of Poland, so you find here perfect conditions for active tourism. From the sea cliffs, through lake districts, primeval forests, valleys of numerous rivers and Jurassic trail, Poland invites to green hills and snow – covered peaks of Tatra Mountains.
The name of the country comes from medieval tribe Polanie - inhabitants of the area of central Poland. When in AD 960 prince Mieszko I accepted christening with all his court, Poland joined circle of Christian countries. His son - Bolesław Chrobry was the first Polish crowned king. The most famous royal dynasties were: Piasts, Jagiellons, Wazas and Saxons. The Jagiellonian dynasty was a founder of the first university in Poland (Jagiellonian University in Cracow from 1364).
History of Poland is very tempestuous. There was a time of splendour and glory, and also periods of wars, attacks, invasions of enemies, partitions of Poland and occupation, as well as times of victory and conquests, and also years of oppression, terror and fear. After recovering of independence in 1918, liberation from Nazis occupation in 1945 and changing the communist system in 1989, Poland became a democratic partner of Europe.
Polish culture is a mosaic created for centuries by many nations. This is why today architecture, folklore and history delights tourists. A lot of polish monuments is on the UNESCO List of World’s Cultural and Natural Heritage.

Polish people are very hospitable and sociable nation. Social relationships and tradition have special place in their hearts and minds. You will discover it in time of Christian Holidays, especially during Christmas, which is loved by all of them. In those cold days, Polish cities twinkle wonderfully and shine with all ornaments, Christmas trees, white snow, eyes of Polish people sparkling and their faces are glittering of joy.

Come to see the country where the people say, „A visitor in my house is like God in my house”.
